You can find over 2000 different languages and dialects in Africa. Let us give you a tour and introduce one of the main ones, Kiswahili. Join our online event and gain new knowledge about the African continent!

Corona Cermak, the native speaker, will talk about the Kiswahili language and the Swahili culture. You will learn where and when the Kiswahili language originated and how it is shaping our future. This week the United Nations has announced that the 7th of July is World Kiswahili day, the only African language to have world day. We will talk about the food, culture, film, music, tourism, literature (The 2021 Nobel prize winner from Zanzibar, Abdulrazak Gurnah), the countries and universities using and teaching Kiswahili.
