My presentation describes the application and reception of an adaptable lesson plan used with C2 level English for International Finance students at Humboldt University’s language center. This interactive plan provides a structure for applying authentic texts with upper-level participants to improve their communicative language skills in five key areas: reading, writing, speaking, listening, and intercultural competence. We will begin with a brief introduction to my students via language learner profiles. Following that, we will explore the what and why of the plan as well as how it can be (and has been) modified. Before opening our discussion, we will have a look at some initial results and student feedback.
