Six Months' Super Intensive Course of Czech for Foreigners 2022 – On-line Instruction

The online instruction will be held in ZOOM. 

The online course will enable students to learn Czech even during the COVID-19 pandemic and is specifically intended for students with difficulties in travelling and or staying in the Czech Republic during the period of the course and for those whose visa was delayed or momentarily refused but who still want to learn Czech. This version of the course offers the chance to save on accommodation and travel costs since your physical presence is not required.  

The course is intended for foreign students who wish to pursue higher education in the Czech Republic. No previous knowledge of Czech is needed; the course is designed for complete beginners. 

You will learn to communicate actively in common life situations as well as attain communication basics in the area of your specialization via e-learning, consultations and self-study 

If you wish to complete the specialized preparation for your future study, you can also apply for preparatory entrance exam courses offered by MU faculties.

With thSuper Intensive Course, you will be able to learn the basics of Czech on-line and then deepen your knowledge and skills in a Czech environment. The combination of the two approaches should create a comprehensive learning experience for all students who intend to become familiar with the Czech language in the university environment. 

The course focuses on:  

  • Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation 
  • Everyday situations
  • Czech history and culture 


There are two main goals of the course: to help the student to integrate in Czech society overcoming social, cultural and language barriers and to contribute to successful passing of entrance examinations to a university or other higher education institution. An individual approach to students and their needs is emphasised. The course will be completed by taking the final exam.

Admission requirements 

  • fill in and send the electronic application and a copy of the passport 
  • send a certificate of completed secondary education related to the degree program which you wish to study 
  • pay the course fee 
  • receipt of admission will be issued upon payment 
  • in case visa is not granted or other problems which prevent the student from participating or completing the course, the course fee will be refunded according to our cancellation policy
  • information about visa issues
  • knowledge of English is required 
  • good technical equipment and stable internet connection are required 

Teaching/learning materials 

The nature of the course enables tailoring the teaching/learning materials to the users’ needs. We will use both the traditional textbooks of Czech as a foreign language and supplementary and authentic resources. 


1 November – 17 December 2021: 204 lessons

Public Holidays – 17 November

4 January – 1 April 2022 360 hours

4 April – 8 April 2022: week of preparation for the final exam

11 April – 15 April 2022: 1st round of final exam

9 May – 13 May 2022: resits                                                                       

5 September - 9 September 2022: 2nd round of resits

The course will be taught by lecturers of Masaryk University Language Centre, who have long-term experience in teaching as well as systematic study of didactics, resulting in the most efficient language instruction and support. 


Students have to actively participate during the lessons. They will be admitted to the final examination only if their attendance has not dropped below 70 %. Students have to always communicate to us the reason of their absenceThe only accepted reasons will be health issues or official bureaucratic reasons. For students whose attendance drops below 70 % and they do not communicate to us the reasons of their absence, they will an e-mail asking him/her to attend the course and continue his/her studies.

In case the student quits attending the course, he has no right to get the course fee refunded.   


The course will be completed by passing the final examination and obtaining the certificate of completion. 

Final examination 

  • the final exam will take place at the end of the course
  • upon successfully passing the final exam, students will get a certificate of completion of the course and of the final exam according to the level achieved 
  • if a student fails the final exam, there is a possibility to resit 
  • This is not the Final State Examination!
