During the workshop, we will reflect on how multilingualism functions in people on the autism spectrum, whether and how manifestations of the spectrum may differ across linguistic environments, and how to work with these differences both in diagnosis and in everyday communication.

Scientific findings will be complemented by practical experience—drawn from both professionals and parents. Among other topics, we will address the question of which language to choose in communication. We will also consider the role of the dominant language, the significance of English in today’s society, and which approaches have proven most effective in practice.

The workshop will conclude with an open discussion and practical recommendations on how to approach multilingual children and adults on the autism spectrum in a sensitive and informed manner. We look forward to sharing experiences together and to exploring ways that support understanding and natural language development.
