With the arrival of the semester (and lower temperatures), several opportunities for (indoor) CPD activities, trips to conferences, and teaching mobilities come to CJV. In addition, we will throw in mandatory reading in the form of the new study and examination regulations, and the October newsletter is born.

Členství v API a seminář plurilingvismu (3.10.) / API Membership and Plurilingualism Webinar
S radostí vás informujeme, že CJV je nyní členem API Education Forum. API (Action-oriented Plurilingual and Intercultural Education) je mezinárodní komunita zaměřená na jazykové vzdělávání, která sdružuje akademiky, učitele, tvůrce vzdělávacích programů a strategií z celého světa cílících na rozvoj plurilingvího a mezikulturního vzdělávání.
V rámci našeho členství jsme zváni k účasti na sérii online seminářů, které představí inovace v pedagogice, nové výzkumy, zdroje a publikace. Tyto akce se budou konat vždy první čtvrtek v měsíci od 16:00 do 17:30 našeho času. Již tento čtvrtek 3. října se tedy můžete připojit k online setkání Plurilingual Lab z kanadské McGill University s Angelicou Galante a a dalšími hosty. Představí svůj nedávný výzkum, včetně publikace Plurilingual Guide: Implementing Critical Plurilingual Pedagogy in Language Education.

We are happy to inform you that the Language Centre has joined the API Education Forum. API (Action-oriented Plurilingual and Intercultural Education) is an international community focused on language education, which brings together academics, teachers, creators of educational programmes, and strategies from all over the world aimed at the development of plurilingual and intercultural education.
As part of our membership, we are invited to participate in a series of online seminars that will present innovations in pedagogy, new research, resources, and publications. These events will take place on the first Thursday of each month from 16:00 to 17:30 CEST.
This Thursday, 3 October, you are welcome to join an online session with the Plurilingual Lab from McGill University in Canada, featuring Angelica Galante and other guests. They will present their recent research, including the publication Plurilingual Guide: Implementing Critical Plurilingual Pedagogy in Language Education.

Nový Studijní a zkušební řád / New Study and Examination Regulations
Od 1.9.2024 platí na Masarykově univerzitě nový Studijní a zkušební řád. Personální oddělení rozešle všem zaměstnancům CJV MU předpis k přečtení a seznámení.
From September 1, 2024, the new Study and Examination Regulations apply at Masaryk University. The personnel department will send the new regulations to all CJV MU employees to read and familiarize themselves with.

CJV se snaží držet krok se světem nových technologií a AI, a proto je důležité, abychom se všichni průběžně seznamovali s možnostmi i nástrahami, které nám AI přináší. Čtvrtek 3.10. bude prvním ze série seminářů, v jejichž rámci nastíníme nejen nutné obecné povědomí, které budeme muset o AI mít, ale také způsoby, jakým se v budoucnu budeme školit, abychom mohli informovaně rozhodovat o tom, které nástroje, aplikace, postupy nebo metody budeme ve svých hodinách a při práci se studujícími využívat.
CJV has a goal to keep up with the latest developments in AI. It is crucial that we all are going to continuously familiarize ourselves with both the opportunities and challenges that AI brings. Thursday, 3 October, will be the first in a series of seminars where we will outline not only the essential general knowledge we need to have about AI, but also how we will train ourselves in the future. This will enable us to make informed decisions about which tools, applications, methods, or approaches we will use in our classes and in our work with students.

Konferenční účasti - CERCLES 2024, Durham, UK
Z konferenčních výjezdů posledního měsíce vybíráme skvělou reprezentaci našich zaměstnanců a zaměstnankyň na CERCLES 2024 v anglickém Durhamu 12.-14. září. Letošní program s tématem "Multilingualism in the Anglosphere" se podařilo naplnit 8 prezentacemi/semináři/workshopy z CJV. Na webu centra již brzy přibude shrnující článek s výňatky z prezentací, v mezičase ale chceme sdílet zajímavosti a postřehy kolegů a kolegyň, kteří se letošního ročníku konference, kterou jsme měli tu čest v roce 2020 také organizovat, účastnili.
V letošním akademickém roce chceme ještě více vyzdvihovat vaše výjezdy a výstupy, abychom v rámci CJV propojili know-how, předali kontakty a lépe tak poznali práci celého centra. Budou tak vznikat častěji články či příspěvky na sociálních sítích a doufáme, že vás budou také inspirovat. #sharingiscaring
From the conference trips of the last month, we select a great representation of our employees at CERCLES 2024 in Durham, UK. This year's programme with the theme "Multilingualism in the Anglosphere" was filled with 8 presentations/seminars/workshops from CJV. A summarizing article with excerpts from the presentations will soon be added to the centre's website, but in the meantime, we want to share the interesting bits and observations of colleagues who participated in this year's conference, which we had the honor to organize in 2020 as well.
In this academic year, we want to highlight your trips and outputs even more to connect know-how within the CJV, pass on contacts, and thus get to know the work of the entire centre better. In this way, articles or posts on social networks will be created more often, and we hope that they will also inspire you. #sharingiscaring
