The "Let's Explore Brno Together" course helps connect incoming students with the city and local traditions

Brno is not just a city where we study and work – it is a space full of stories, art, music, flavors and interesting legends. And that is exactly what our online course Let’s Explore Brno Together! focuses on, combining learning with authentic experiences.

The course is conducted in English and is based on the principles of experiential pedagogy. Its creator is also Kateřina Chudová, head of the CJV unit at the Faculty of Law at MU and an English teacher. Thanks to the course, participants do not only get to know Brno "from a textbook", but also directly experience its atmosphere - through literature, music, film, art and sports. They can expect an interactive program, gamification elements and many opportunities to discover the city from different angles. All international students at Masaryk University can enroll in the course. They will discover the university environment and the cultural and social attractions of Brno. Thanks to this, they will create deeper ties to Czech society, but above all, they will feel at home in Brno.

The course is a great opportunity for the integration of international students at Masaryk University - it helps them to orientate themselves faster, find their way into university life and better understand the rhythm of Czech society. This is also evidenced by the beautiful feedback that the teachers receive after the course - for example, this one from Cheah Ni, who took the course this spring:

"I wanted to express how much I enjoyed the class. The way it integrated learning with exploring Brno each week was truly engaging and something I looked forward to every time. I've attached a photo from the Ride of the Kings in Vlčnov, which was shared in Week 13. I had an incredible time seeing the vibrant folk culture and venturing out from Brno – it was a fantastic experience!"
