How to Provide Effective Feedback After Observations in Foreign Language Teaching? This two-day seminar offers a comprehensive overview of the principles, techniques and tools for conducting observations and providing feedback to colleagues. Participants will learn how to create a positive feedback culture that supports professional growth, collaboration and open communication within the team.

Seminar Objectives:
Participants will acquire the skills needed to effectively observe teaching and provide developmental feedback. They will take away practical materials – observation forms, interview templates and action planning – and the confidence to support colleagues in their professional development.

Programme:
Day 1 (9:00 – 12:15)

  • Foundations of Effective Feedback in Language Teaching
    The purpose and impact of feedback in professional development, characteristics of effective and ineffective feedback, feedback models and their use.
  • Observation Skills and Data Collection
    Systematic observation techniques, creation of observation tools, objective data collection without evaluation.

Day 2 (14:00 – 17:15)

  • Feedback Delivery Techniques and Difficult Conversations
    Different approaches to providing feedback, handling difficult conversations, cultural sensitivity in communication.
  • Creating Action Plans and Follow-up Systems
    Translating feedback into specific development steps, setting up follow-up consultations and building a long-term feedback culture.

Final part (mandatory): Online follow-up meeting
Course participants will meet online in December (date to be specified) and together with the lecturer they will reflect on their own listening experiences. This meeting is a mandatory part of the course and will provide a space for sharing experiences, evaluating feedback and planning further professional development.

Certification:
After completing all three parts of the course – both face-to-face days and the online follow-up meeting – the participant will receive a microcertificate.
