How to write a Literature Review without wasting time

The Writing Gab returns on Thursday, April 29! This time, Abbie and Joe will talk about the genre of Literature Review. It’s a common assignment at university, and an essential part of a thesis - but writing it can be very frustrating and mysterious. How do you know when you’ve done enough reading?

How do you decide which details of your research to put in, and which to leave out? How do you organize your notes, so that you don’t end up with a junkheap of disconnected references? And then, once you’ve done all your research, how do you shape it into a coherent text? What are some formal writing techniques you can use to make sure your literature review points a clear path toward your OWN original thesis? We’ll offer some answers to those questions, and show you how you can write a Lit Review that is enlightening and enjoyable to read. And as always, there will be time for you to share your questions and tips with the group.
