Teaching Practice Week 2022 brought new discourses to Masaryk University

At the end of April, nine brilliant scholars from European University Institute in Florence joined Masaryk University for an intensive week of teaching, training and networking. Our Language Centre organized its 5th Teaching Practice Week on 25-29 April and brought new topics and discourses to classes of bachelor's and master's students across four MU faculties. They were able to discuss for example experimental economics, migration, women political thinkers or populism with postdoctoral fellows of the prestigious Max Weber Programme.

  • Matthew Dylag: Access to justice / law / technology fields / foundations of the common-law legal system
  • Kathleen Mccrudden Illert: European women political thinkers and actors in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries
  • Giulia Gonzales: Mobility, migration, and notions of belonging
  • Greta Semplici: Pastoralism and uncertainty, what lessons for global challenges?

MU Language Centre continues with the Teaching Practice Week through the long-term cooperation with the European University Insititute in Florence. The programme switched to online mode in 2021 and 2020, maintaining the structure and quality, and this year showed that the centre also accommodates hybrid teaching methods.

We wish the best to all our amazing Fellows and we are looking forward to the next year.

The Max Weber Programme (MWP) at the European University Institute (EUI) is the largest and most innovative postdoctoral programme in the historical and social sciences in Europe and it is open to postdoctoral fellows from anywhere in the world. The Programme is among the most selective – attracting circa 1200 applicants each year – in the fields of political and social sciences, economics, law and history for some 50-55 Fellowships. Fellows are selected on the basis of their research accomplishments and potential, their academic career interests, and the availability of the EUI faculty to provide mentorship.
