ICT in Education Studio

  • 19. listopadu 2020 – 14. ledna 2021

ICT in Education Studio is a flexible and dynamic course that discusses current ICT needs and issues in educational settings not from a tools-first perspective but rather, a pedagogical-approach first mapping one or several tools to the educational requirements of the course or activities’ educational objectives or methods.
The studio is aimed at current or future teachers of secondary or higher education. Primary teachers and future primary teachers are welcome to join acknowledging that further consideration and different tools could be needed to meet the needs of younger learners which might not be specifically discussed within the studio. The course will be open to EDUC partners.

ICT in Education Studio develops competences in doctoral students in the area of online education in English. The online study focuses on effective tools in online education, students use an existing website (https://cjvict.edublogs.org/) that offers podcasts, interviews, ideas and tips for successful implementation of systems and techniques into online teaching.

Each week, a facet of ICT in education will be the focus of attention, beit an issue of providing a teaching function over distance or using online pedagogy, teaching methods or approaches that translate well or poorly into online pedagogy or other current issues or teaching functions where ICT could be introduced to save time, teach at a distance or enable other benefits to teachers and/or students. The week’s focus may originate from the studio coordinator, anyone involved in the studio, or a collaborative effort from all involved.
The week’s focus and other course announcements and collaboration efforts are all on Slack (free team communication software) which has a desktop, phone and tablet application for installation on any device.

Target audience: Future teachers, i.e. the Faculty of Education and Arts and EDUC partners (PhD students or practicing higher education teachers).
Students enrolling in the course would likely need a minimum CEFR level of B1+.
Level of the course: European Framework of Reference (CEFR): B2-C2
