Italian for Pre-Intermediate I

  • 25 September – 11 December 2025
  • MU Language Centre, Komenského nám. 2, Brno

This course is a continuation to Italian for Beginners II from the previous semester but it is also open to newcomers.

The Italian course for Pre-Intermediate learners (A2 Level) is designed for everyone with a lower pre-intermediate level of Italian (A2 Level). You should be able to use the present, past and future tense (passato prossimo and imperfetto) of regular and irregular verbs, conditional, imperative, direct and indirect personal pronouns and possessive pronouns. You should be able to talk about yourself, your family and your friends, tell time, order in a restaurant, manage a conversation in a shop, talk about events past, present and future. The course is aimed to develop and improve all four skills (listening comprehension, reading, writing, and speaking), expand your vocabulary, and practise Italian grammar, with an emphasis on comprehension and communication.

The focus will be on starting, sustaining, and ending simple conversations, and on developing and managing expressions in common real-life situations, formal and informal situations.

By the end of the course, you will be able to interact with native speakers, to express surprise, request, write a formal email or letter, write a CV or talk about your work. You will be able to talk about events in the past, present and future, express modality, and hypotheses.

The course will follow the textbook Nuovissimo progetto italiano 2 Unità 1-3 + additional materials.

It is issued in electronic form, verifiable, transferable and internationally recognized. It serves as proof of your further (lifelong) education and can support your study or professional career.

If you apply for a microcredential in a CJV language course, the teacher will test the acquired knowledge with you at the end.
