Two sample activities from the up-dated course will be introduced. The role-playing activities focus on developing soft skills such as active listening, expressing opinions, agreeing and disagreeing, and making polite interruptions. These skills play a crucial role in building relationships, not only in business communication.

The presentation will shed light on the operational structure of the Language Centre and the key focus areas of its ongoing development work. Tia will discuss in more detail the forms of study at UH LC 2024-2025 and provide insight into the student feedback on the different forms of language study.

The presentation will introduce two interactive activities designed to enhance students' ability to express viewpoints and organize information effectively. The Scales activity helps students articulate their opinions and priorities by categorizing concepts according to specific criteria, fostering critical thinking and self-expression. The Information Visualization activity engages students in graphically representing key ideas from their research or academic articles, using creative approaches to deepen understanding and improve presentation skills.
