Zpět The Role of Personal Learning Networks (PLN) in Professional Development

Centrum jazykového vzdělávání MU (Komenského nám. 220/2, Brno )

Personal Learning Networks (PLN) have received a lot of attention recently; however, PLNs are not a new concept as they have always existed.  PLNs may include participation in multiple communities both online and offline. This presentation focuses on the role of PLNs in professional development for English language teaching. The different types of PLNs are discussed and their value for English language teachers are analysed. It also offers practical suggestions on how to build, strengthen, and personalize a PLN while focusing on specific Web 2.0 tools and social media which are widely used in PLNs.
